Newsflash: New Linux Drivers (HPLIP 2.8.6 Release)

A new Linux print driver (HPLIP 2.8.6) was released on Friday, June 20th adding support for the following products:

  • HP Color LaserJet cm6030 MFP
  • HP Color LaserJet cm6030f MFP
  • HP LaserJet p1008 Printer (REQURIES plug-in)
  • HP LaserJet p1007 Printer (REQURIES plug-in)
  • HP Officejet Pro j4525 All In One
  • HP Officejet Pro j4535 All In One
  • HP Officejet Pro j4540 All In One
  • HP Officejet Pro j4550 All In One
  • HP Officejet Pro j4580 All In One
  • HP Officejet Pro j4585 All In One
  • HP Officejet Pro j4524 All In One
  • HP Color LaserJet cm1312 MFP              (Note: Scanning for this device not supported in this release)
  • HP Color LaserJet cm1312nfi MFP         (Note: Scanning for this device not supported in this release)
  • HP Deskjet f2210 All-in-one
  • HP Deskjet f2212 All-in-one
  • HP Deskjet f2214 All-in-one
  • HP Deskjet f2224 All-in-one
  • HP Deskjet f2235 All-in-one
  • HP Deskjet f2238 All-in-one
  • HP Deskjet f2240 All-in-one
  • HP Deskjet f2250 All-in-one
  • HP Deskjet f2275 All-in-one
  • HP Deskjet f2276 All-in-one
  • HP Deskjet f2280 All-in-one
  • HP Deskjet f2288 All-in-one

Glad to see that HP Color LaserJet cm1312nfi MFP is now supported.  I want to buy this unit.  Any idea when scanning support will be included?

Hi Peter,

Thanks for the question.  We have plans to add scanning support and we hope to have that completed this fall.  Stay tuned.  I think you'll enjoy that printer.  It has amazing print output for an inexpensive colour laser platform.  Take care.

Hi Peter, it looks like scanning support was just added for the HP Color LaserJet cm1312f in the HPLIP 2.8.9 release.  More information in this post:

Hi. I just purchased a New Hp Officejet J4550 All in One printer from COSTCO which was advertised as a $10.00 rebate from the Manufacturer. I was not given a rebate form, so i wanted to find it on your website, but your site does not list COSTCO

I paid $ 79.99

Hi Jenn.  As a technologist, I don't have any involvement with our customer rebate programs.  However I'll make a suggestion for you.  (1) Often rebates are included at time of sale or given as a coupon in tandem from another purchase from the reseller.  You may want to have the reseller comment.  (2) You can look-up promotions (current mainly, but many past promos as well) online - if you're in the US the URL is www.hp.com/go/specials; if you're in Canada the URL is www.hp.ca/promotions.  I hope that helps you get pointed to some of the resources available to you.  Take care,

If you bought you HP Officejet j4550 at COSTCO they automatically take it out as you purchase it. I bought the same one and it was reflected in the reciept.

I purchased hp officejet j4550 all in one at costco but it does not have   printer drive .how can I print thing from my computer.

If you are missing the driver or CD for the printer, you could consider downloading the driver from http://www.hp.com.  Or, contact our support teams at 1-800-HPINVENT and they should be able to lend you some additional assistance in getting a CD or a copy of the driver.
