Video Tutorial: Exporting Devices from HP Web Jetadmin

It's been a while since my last post and I have to say I'm sorry.  I've been quite busy with customer related projects but it's been a relatively slow month for updates so its worked out for the best.  That said, you'll be seeing some new firmware and software updates coming in short order as well as some new product announcements in the not too distant future.

So what's this post about?  Frequently, I get asked by customers how to export things like page counts to their resellers or even status information like "Is the EWS password enabled", etc.  So I thought that this short video tutorial on configuring Device Exports in HP Web Jetadmin would be helpful.  Let me know what you think.

(a non-HP website) where the video I have
created is hosted.

Although this is not officially part of the formal reporting options in Web Jetadmin, for many customers, this basic ability to export columnar views on a regular basis is extremely helpful.  This is especially true for those customers who prefer to manipulate their own data in Excel or script things through bots running on a server scouping the attachments from the regular export.  We'll dive into some more advance data collection and reporting built into HP Web Jetadmin in the future as time permits.  If you have a preference for a particular type of report you'd like to see, let me know and I'll include it.  Remember that there's formal HP Web Jetadmin Training at our Education portal (click on "Imaging and Printing" then "Web Jetadmin").  Take care ...

Gracias.

I am using Babelfish to translate.  Please forgive any strange sentences.

I use this weblog to keep my customers in Canada up to date with tips, tricks and tutorials.  It's nice to see that others world wide are interested in the content.  Thank you.  However, not being able to speak Spanish myself, I am not sure if I can help here.

I will have to think this over as I have gotten a lot of positive feedback from many people world-wide.  I'd like to help if I can.  For background, English is my first language.  I speak French somewhat okay and I know enough of Greek to ask how to get to the local restaurant.  I also speak JavaScript, Visual Basic, C# and HTML, but I'm not sure if that will help here.

Thanks for the words of encouragement.  We do have local sales teams who may be able to give some pre-sales advice.  The HP website under "Contact" in your country will allow you to submit requests online.  This might be a good way to get started.

Hi Glenn,

I'm afraid I'm not expert in our handheld or calculator devices.  But thanks for your question.  But I notice that one of my fellow bloggers, Wing Kin Cheung, runs a web log called "The Calculating World with Wing and You" (www.communities.hp.com/.../default.aspx).  You might want to pose this question to him.  Not sure that he'd be able to do a video, but perhaps he can make some recommendations to you.  Of course there's pleaty of support resources on www.hp.com/go/support as well.  Take care,
