Video Tutorial: Automating Supplies Groups in HP Web Jetadmin 10

This is just a quick video tutorial which illustrates how administrators can automate supplies groups which are built into HP Web Jetadmin 10 (a new feature when version 10 was launched).  It explores what a supply group is, how to automatically group devices into that group through policies in device groups and what these powerful tools can be extended into (configuraton templates, etc).

Do you use supply groups?  I'm curious.  Let me know. Over and out...

Thanks for the video.  It was very instructive.  Is there a way I can download it to show to others?

Hi David.  Thanks for the feedback.  Glad it's helpful.  I don't currently have a link available to download the entire package for this video, but I did recently upgrade to Camtasia Studio 6 which outputs MP4 (Mpeg4) files which can be saved to desktop.  On future videos, I'll reference the download link for folks.  Good "feature enhancement" for me to include on future captures.  Speaking of which I really have to get on a couple of major topics of interests for folks.  Look for some new videos coming in the new year.

I seem to have touched a key that deactivated my cursor on my Pavilion Laptop. Could you tell me which one to touch to reactivate it??

Hi JP, I'm not sure about that question since this isn't a forum for Pavillion laptops, but our family bought one a short time ago (it was a DV6780SE and we love it).  I know on that model there's a button which disables the touch-pad for people like me who type with their palms down.  It should be just a matter of enabling the button (in my notebook it's right above the touch pad).  There's a possibility that your touch-pad got accidentally disabled in the Windows device manager (right click "My Computer", then select "Manage" then go to "Device Manager" and look for any devices which may be disabled).  Those are the only things I can suggest off the top of my head.  If you want support on your product, go to www.hp.com/go/support and type in the name of your device or let it get auto-detected.  If your product is under warranty you should be able to call into the support line (1-800-HP-INVENT here in Canada).  Best regards, B.
