A new HP Linux Imaging & Printing (HPLIP) release occurred today.  HPLIP release 2.8.9 added support for the following products:

• HP Photosmart a636 Compact Photo Printer (QuickConnect)
• HP Photosmart a637 Compact Photo Printer (QuickConnect)
• HP Photosmart d5400 Printer (DJGenericVIP)
• HP Photosmart d5460 Printer (DJGenericVIP)
• HP Photosmart d5480 Printer (DJGenericVIP)

 Also, scanning support has been added to the following printers:

• HP LaserJet m1005
• HP LaserJet m1120 MFP
• HP LaserJet m1120n MFP
• HP LaserJet m1319f MFP

However, perhaps the biggest change related to this release is the concurrent launch of a new website.  The re-launch of the HPLIP web site, includes:

• A new Knowledge-Base for enhanced search & delivery of HPLIP software and associated support documentation
• A new location: http://hplipopensource.com (the old URL will be re-routed).
