Global Reporting Initiative: transparency in supply chain is critical

In my recent blog entries I have made clear the importance of transparency. This is why we have committed to publishing our suppliers’ names and tracking carbon emissions along our supply chain.

At the end of March the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) launched a new programme - the Global Action Network for Transparency in the Supply Chain - to foster transparency in the supply chain and offer collaboration and capacity building. Through this programme suppliers of participating multinational corporations will receive GRI certified training and resources enabling them to implement the G3 Sustainability Reporting Framework.

This is a promising programme and I look forward to the first results and feedback from participating companies and their suppliers. I will keep you updated.
