Clarion Awards for our Global Citizenship Report - CSR in Europe, Middle East and Africa -
Clarion Awards for our Global Citizenship Report

I have exciting news: Last week we were honoured to receive the Clarion Award in the category ‘Strategic Communications’ for our Global Citizenship Report 2008.

The Clarion Awards have been given by The International Visual Communications Association (IVCA) since 2003. Each year the association honours best practice in communications relating to CSR, diversity, sustainable development, social inclusion and ethical debate.

Earlier this month we were informed that we were one of the five nominees in the award category for ‘Strategic Communications’. Last Friday was the BIG DAY. Dr Kirstie McIntyre and Bruno Zago from the HP EMEA Environment team went to the awards ceremony and were very pleased when HP was announced the winner. I think we can take this award as a good indication that all the hard work around our FY08 Global Citizenship Report has paid off.

The jury said that we received the award because our Global Citizenship Report constitutes ‘a comprehensive report with excellent examples, demonstrating a strong sense that HP really take their responsibility seriously and that it is well embedded into their corporate psyche.’ Please take a look at our report and let me know if you agree with them.

Each year, we want raise the standards of our Global Citizenship Report. With this new distinction, the bar has been raised even higher. Let’s go for it!

It was an absolute pleasure to collect this award on behalf of the team.  As a contributor and user of the report - I think this was well deserved.  HP was certainly in illustrious company, some of the other winners were truly awe-inspiring and moving pieces of communication.  Well done to the team for all their hard work - I look forward to 2009's version.
