Warm Welcome for MFPs with Edgeline Technology

Michael Turner
Edgeline MFP Marketing Director

It's been a very busy few weeks. The good news is our MFPs with Edgeline technology are receiving a warm welcome, and products are being evaluated and sold all over the place.

And, the good word is spreading around the globe. Notice that this article talks about buying in one of the available purchase models that I discussed in last week’s blog. It also talks about another customer benefiting from our Managed Print Service offering.

In the meantime, please feel free to ask me about MFPs with Edgeline technology, and let me know what you’d like to discuss in this space. (Hint: The comment link is below. Registration is required. I certainly look forward to replying!)

Michael & Team, We are considering the CM8050 for our non-profit organization. In evaluation of other vendors product color depth (ie: 4-bit/8-bit) has been a point of mention. Is there a standard bit depth classified to this machine or is there a hypothetical number of possible colors that the machine is capable of producing. It would also be very helpful for us to have a Flash Demo of all the control panel functionality to show ease of use to our users, is this a tool that has been developed or are there resources we can have sent to us for consideration? Finally, what is the scheduled release date for the new version of Web Jetadmin? I understand there is significantly greater accounting and usage reporting through this tool then previous versions.

Thank you for your comment, Dan. Michael Turner is on vacation, but I’m happy to address your questions.

The CM8060/50 accepts 8-bit per each channel (R,G,B) for a total color depth of 24 bits. Theoretically, this translates to about 16.7 million distinct colors.

A walk through of the control panel features can be found by copying the following URL and pasting into your browser: http://www.hp.com/large/ipg/mfp/demo_index.html

HP Web Jetadmin version 10.0 will be available June 20th. You can follow our new discussion on Web Jetadmin by going to the main page of this blog and selecting "Web Jetadmin" from the category list.
