VP Worldwide Sales and Services
Today I’m live-blogging from HP’s 2008
Annual Imaging and Printing Conference in San Diego. We have nearly 100
press and analysts in attendance, who will hear directly from HP about our
offerings for the consumer, SMB, enterprise and graphic arts markets. At the
keynote address, HP’s Executive Vice President of IPG, Vyomesh Joshi (VJ),
talked about trends taking shape that are driven by the explosion of digital
content, and how HP is providing greater options for our enterprise customers to
boost productivity, security and environmental sustainability. VJ also talked
about cool new partnerships with MTV and MySpace to drive their users to hit print and
share content.
But since you’re reading the Enterprise Printing Blog, I’m focusing this
entry on one of our newest Managed
Printing Services customers, Viacom. We
are honored to have Joe Simon, CIO, and Bob Roth, vice president of Strategic
Services, from Viacom joining us at the conference. Working with HP, Viacom is
projecting super
savings of nearly 25 percent in imaging and printing costs over the next
three years. In addition to the fantastic cost savings, Viacom’s new managed
imaging and printing fleet from HP will provide a 50 to 60 percent increase in
energy savings, reducing its carbon emissions associated with energy by more
than 28 percent.
To follow the goings on at the conference in real time, check out our twitter
feed – with the Twitter Station we’ve
set up at the event, you never know who will drop in and make a tweet.
