Fresh from the ITEX show in Vegas, it truly does look like MPS is taking center stage with the traditional "copier" dealers.

The challenge now (and again) is can those dealers, who traditionally do not speak with IT, translate this into profits.

Dealers are trying to boil all MPS down into some basic building blocks; blocks are easier to sell than complex ideas - we shall see.

Of course, one hopes the customer is not forgotten as everyone charts their course.

re: No Spin Zone - Managed Print Services Offer True Cost Savings

Mike,

Great post. It is exciting to see Managed Print Services (MPS) gaining exposure as a significant way to drive cost savings, productivity enhancements, and positive environmental returns to businesses. Another great venue for companies to learn about the benefits and best practices in MPS is to attend the 2009 MPS Conference in San Antonio, Texas. More information can be found at www.managed-print-services.com.

The Photizo Group's ground breaking MPS Decision Maker tracking study has validated the benefits of MPS in both North America and Europe, and the rapid rate of growth for this market. In fact, according to the study, over 50% of all MPS engagements are first time engagements. This supports the market growth forecast (also quoted by the Journal) from the Photizo Group which predicts over 24% CAGR through 2012, and a 36% growth rate this year.

As the only research and consulting firm which focuses on the MPS space, the Photizo Group is excited to see the mainstream press paying attention to this very important opportunity to save costs and improve productivity.

re: HP Broadens Portfolio of Imaging and Printing Solutions for Enterprise Customers

I like what HP is doing in the Imaging market but would love to see them come up with their own front end workflow management tool.

re: HP and Kofax: 10 years of printing solutions

Hi
