Any educator who is using a tablet PC should know about WIPTE, an acronym derived from the original Workshop on Pen-Based Technology in Education that was first held at Purdue. It's a great venue to learn from other tablet-using-educators, and a great place to share your own research and innovations in teaching...

From the official email announcement:

The Workshop on the Impact of Pen-Based Technology on Education (WIPTE) is accepting paper submissions for its 2009 conference.  The deadline for submissions is June 15th, 2009. Submissions should describe experiences in deploying pen-based technology in educational environments. Papers will be accepted from both K12 and Higher Education institutions. All papers will be peer-reviewed. Selected papers will appear in a Monograph to be published by Purdue University Press and authors will present these papers at WIPTE 2009.  Selection decisions will be announced by July 24th.

Poster and video submissions are also being accepted. Details on all of the submission categories are available at http://www.wipte.org/

The WIPTE conference will be held October 12-13 at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech). Visit http://www.wipte.org/ for more information.

For examples of past papers presented at WIPTE, you can buy the monograph, The Impact of Tablet PCs and Pen-based Technology on Education, 2007: Beyond the Tipping Point.

Good luck with your submissions!
