Are you using tablet pcs in K-12 (primary or secondary ed) or higher education settings to support innovative teaching and learning experiences? Now's your chance for some fame - and possibly $3000...
The organizers of the Workshop on the Impact of Pen-based Technology on Education (www.wipte.org) have just launched a video contest, with a call for very short videos that feature the use of tablet pcs in education. From their flyer:
WIPTE Video Contest- Want to Win $3,000 for 3 minutes?
Do you...
- Use Tablet PC's in your learning environment for both teachers and students?
- Have a passion for how your learning environment has changed for the better using Tablets?
- Wish to share your experiences with other educators?
Then...
- Capture the magic that happens in your learning environment in a 3 to 5 minute video
- Upload the video to YouTube
- Submit a link to the video, a two to three sentence description of its content, along with the name of your organization, whether it is K-12 or higher education, and contact information to wiptevideo@gmail.com
- Winning submission receives $3,000
What is WIPTE looking for in a video?
- Clear visual examples of how teaching and learning has changed for the better using Tablet PCs
- Informative and concise presentation style.
- Style may be entertaining, serious, or anything in between.
- A willingness by the producer of the video to become a reference for those investigating Tablet PC's in the learning environment by allowingthe video to become a key online artifact in helping others to get better teaching and learning outcomes with this technology.
Note: Videos submitted to the 2009 WIPTE Video Contest must be distributable via YouTube. Also, by submitting to the WIPTE Video Contest the submitter acknowledges that they retain sufficient rights to allow WIPTE to become a non-exclusive distributor of the video as submitted for the 2009 WIPTE Video Contest.
Timeline
- Deadline for submission: November 30th
- Initial judging by general Tablet community via YouTube ratings and views (tell your friends and colleagues!): November 30th through December 18th
- Additional judging by the WIPTE committee with the final winner selected and announced via email and on www.wipte.org by the WIPTE committeeon January 15th
