How Good are HP Printers? Find out from HP Customers.

I’ve started my holiday shopping, and because I never seem to have enough time, I do a fair amount of it online. I still go to brick and mortar stores too because I actually like the hustle and bustle of the holidays, and the holidays wouldn’t be complete for me if I didn’t get to hear elevator music versions of Christmas carols while standing in long check-out lines with the handles of heavy shopping bags cutting a line in my hands, but I digress.

Back to online shopping. I find this type of shopping most convenient when I either know exactly what I want, and I just need to order it, or the opposite, when I know I want a particular type of product, but I don’t know which one to buy. One trend I’ve seen on shopping web sites is the customer review. I’m a little skeptical of reviewers. For example our local newspaper movie critic in San Diego seems to love to pan the movies everybody loves and praise the movies most people don’t enjoy. (I feel he owes my husband and me $18 for Magnolia which was the last time I went to see a movie based on one of his reviews.) More digression, sorry.

Back to online shopping. Although I am skeptical of reviewers, I have very much enjoyed reading online customer reviews of products I’m considering purchasing. Customers call out things that are very hard to evaluate by manufacturer-supplied information. For example, at HP, we strive to make our printers easy to set up and use, and we try to call out features that provide a concrete example of this. And, I personally write a lot of this information. However, I must admit that it seems so much more genuine and credible (even to me) to read a customer review that testifies to ease of use based on actual customer experience.

So if you are considering purchasing an HP printer for a holiday gift or for yourself, please visit the HP Home & Home Office Store (www.hpshopping.com). Once you find a printer or all-in-one (or any other HP product), click on the customer review link and see what other folks like you have to say. I think you’ll learn some interesting things. The customer feedback is uncensored, so on occasion you’ll read something that makes us cringe at HP. But the good news for us is it’s another way to get customer feedback, and if there are things about our products that customers don’t like, we have a chance to address those issues. Also, if you read something naughty (using bad language and such), please report that to us. HP runs a clean web site.

I hope your holiday shopping goes well whichever road you choose – the virtual one, or the one with eight lanes where few people use their turn signals before they change lanes. (Really, how hard is it to flip a lever up or down? I can’t read your mind!) Oops, more digression, better sign off now.

Happy Holidays!

Honestly, I've had the honor to test for HP Delta Testing program. In the which I received a most excellent printer that I still use after these years. Officejet 7410 and also Photojet 3400. Both has been very reliable, although they seem to have problems working on the same machine via Ethernet switch connection. But I do usually use just one. They have been very solid in print capability both are all-in-ones. My officejet's fax feeder doesn't appear to grip 1 page but many at a time, it's a shame because I really liked that function, but now if I am going to fax I have to scan to .pdf one page at a time. Still printing is very stable which I think is the primary area of focus. I have learned a lot by testing for HP and having these printers in use that it's another consulting skill in my business. Thanks HP! Regards, Ian HPD Global IT Consulting (Seattle, WA) http://www.hudsonspcdoctor.com Anytime you need to test again contact me as in the past.

I have a HP office Jet 6210xi all in one.  I do copies with it

scanning something.  I really like to print out my photos.

My camera is a Kodac and it prints out those photos fine.

However, I have had some photos emailed and used the HP

Zone Image.  Most times it works well. I have the correct print cartrdges installed . the color one and I add a 99 in. Today I got one photo to come out 6 that didn't.  They come out  looking like little squares.  What is wrong with this?

I have an HP Photosmart C7280 All-in-one.  It is an 802.11g wireless product.  I specifically purchased it for wireless printing and scanning in my home office.  My wife has the HP Photosmart C7250 All-in-one which is very similar to the C7280.  For the first few months of use (both purchased in the early spring of 2008) both of us struggled.  I still have issues with the wirless scanning feature after spending a few hours on two separate occasions with tech support and then uninstalling and reinstalling the software that came witht he printer numerous times.  Based on the HP blog for this product series, I am not alone.  Many seem to be having this issue.  There is a recommended fix on the blog that was offered by tech support more than a year ago.  The fix seems to work but now I get error messages on occasion indicating that I should reinstall the software.  The several techs at the HP tech support that I worked with had no knowledge of the fix that had been posted th the blog well before I contacted them.  This product has been a drain on my productivity...  And my wife has found that the only way her printer will work is if she turns the printer on before she boots up her PC.  Then she has to leave it on all day or else she must power down the PC before turning the printer on again.  She doesnt use the wirless scanning feature so I don't know if that works or not.  The bottom line is that the software that comes with these machines has bugs and buyers should be aware of the time they may have to spend to get the darn things to function properly.  I sent a letter to Mark Hurd, the CEO of HP indicating these issues.  He had Customer Support leave me a voice mail requesting that I call if I was still having issues.  So I guess the ball is in my court again.  Thank you Mr. Hurd.

I have just purchased the c7250 and now after reading the issue of wireless connection problems.  I am now wondering if I chose the right brand of printer?  Maybe I should return this printer and purchase another brand.  What should I do, is the problem fixed reguarding software ????  I have yet to open the box, and considering  the idea of  returning it for a more hassle free printer, any support to convince me otherewise.

I am in the same situation as Chris.  Bought the c7250, its still in the box.  Not sure if I should open it and set it up, or if I am opening up a box full of trouble.  If anyone knows if the issues pertaining to the c7250 have been fixed,,,Please let me know.

Many thanks

I purchased an HP C7250 All in One several months ago.  The printer and its features worked fine for a couple of weeks then errors and error messages began taking over.  The most frequent message is "Pump motor stalled Press OK".  This solution worked for a while, then "Ink System Failure Unable to copy, receive faxes, or print.  Refer to printer documentation.  Turn printer off then on again" began appearing when I tried to print.  This message has appeared more and more frequently in the past week or so.   After turning the printer on and off about 15 or 20 times, which takes nearly and hour the printer will at last print, for a while.  Then between printing different documents the pump motor stalls, the ink system fails and the whole lengthy process must be repeated to get the machine to print again. This is no doubt the worst printer I have owned sincei was printing with dot matrix printers.

To Rob Cook...This is a hardware issue.  Pretty crappy.  We're having the SAME problem and error message about the ink system failure.  Anyway, we're gonna take ours apart, but will more than likely be getting a new printer. Another HP? Canon is another good brand.  Maybe we try them
