Recently, I was interviewed on Databazaar's printer blog as a "Printer Pundit". I’m not sure I like being classified that way, as I always associate pundits as being in the political arena or on TV as talking heads! Looking for Imaging & Printing (I&P) experts, they interviewed a number of industry analysts, commentators and the like, including some of my colleagues at Lyra for their insights as to the direction(s) printing might be heading. Michael is the "corporate" father (he asked me not to call him the mother) of the new hp Edgeline MFPs--which are making quite a stir in the I&P industry. Michael is a regular contributor to the blog that represents his business, HP’s Enterprise Printing Blog.
From reading these postings, I’m more bullish than ever on the future of the I&P business. Yet, big questions remain as to which printer and supply technologies will be pre-eminent in which markets. This is especially interesting as new communications paradigms are constantly incubating in a Web 2.0 world. Feel free to leave me a comment on where you think I&P might be heading . . .
