A question was posted on the eBizQ forum on "how do you measure SOA success"?
There were some very thoughtful answers but one aspect I thought was left off by all the comments and that was that there are many different stakeholders in a SOA effort ranging from the business itself (and VP of applications) to the architecture team, developers and operations. My premise is that measuring success in SOA cannot be "one size fits all"

and that the most important aspect of creating a strategy to measure success is to identify what matters to each stakeholder and ensure that 1) it is well understood, 2) can be measured and 3) the goals and success metrics are not at odds with each other.
Read more of my thoughts on this aspect of measuring success of SOA here on the eBizQ SOA discussion forum.
