The rising tide of discussion on SOA .. interesting threads on SOA and Cloud, Can you govern with excel?

There is been a rising tide of good discussions on SOA.. Not quite a flood but definitely a good increase in activity.  Check out the active dialog going on amongst a variety of folks who work in the SOA domain including consultants, vendors and users on the eBizQ SOA forum.   This week and last, a couple of timely questions have been posted with some interesting answers.

Today, the question was raised, "can you govern with excel?"   I took the first shot across the bow but I'm sure there is going to be more insights...check out the discussion here.  Also, we are very interested in your opinion on this, especially those of you who have invested in automated governance... did you start with manual processes or readily available office productivity tools?  What was the trigger point that led you to invest in automation and governance-specific software?  We would like to hear your stories and opinions.. let's start a dialog!

Last week, the question was asked "what are the implications when SOA and Cloud converge?"   Read the active thread on this lively topic here.

The dialog on SOA is heading up again and it's good to see.  Many of you have invested time, energy and resources to make your SOA projects successful and we as an industry owe an active, transparent sharing of best practices.. as the cliche goes:  A rising tide lifts all boats.
