After a long week of screenings, events, and a day job, you really have to love films to attend an 11:30 p.m. screening. Hearing about my friend’s experience at a late night show of Summer Rain was quite fun …

Sarah arrived at 11:15 p.m. and entered the theater, and she immediately realized there was a “quiet buzz” in the air…something was unfolding in the corner of theatre. There were big lenses, lights and people getting ready behind the curtain. The next thing she knew, Antonio Banderas walks up to the lectern to introduce his film, Summer Rain. What luck!

Soon the theater turned into a disco … lights were flashing all over the place -- non stop flashes from cameras and camera phones. There was a sense of excitement in the room as Antonio began to share stories. Having spent the earlier part of the day with a number of people from the festival, Antonio’s enthusiasm and energy filled the room, and you could see he was having a great time. Antonio is a standout at this film festival; his amazing and graceful combination of intellect and glamour made quite an impression.
