In the world of user generated content it seems that a great deal of creative folks are putting in a lot of hard work to express themselves and get their “15 Minutes of Fame.” But what about that creative genius who wants to not only show off his work, but make a living off it? Well that’s where Revver comes in.
I was introduced to the Revver in January where their Founder and CEO Steven Starr sat on a video panel at a recent HP Emerging Media Technology Conference. I found the entire concept of Revver to be exciting. Here’s a summary of how it works:
First, you have uber talented creative guy who creates a cool viral video. Second, uber talented guy would like to get paid for creating this content so they upload the video to Revver. Third, Revver monetizes the video as it spreads across the web. And finally, young uber creative guy pays the rent, etc. with the proceeds.
The whole Coke/Mentos viral video that swept the internet…. Revver was behind that one.
