Yummy Apple Pie…. And Yummy Product Integration/Messaging

How I ended up looking at this video on YouTube I have no idea… but I saw it, clicked it and watched in amazement as Chef Maxwell showed me how to make a yummy apple pie using … you guessed it Virginia Apples!!

The video was sponsored by the Virginia Farm Bureau for their campaign “Virginia Grown” and yes it has a front end and back end message on how great Virginia apples are, but you know, this is a pretty smart marketing idea. Think about it… who doesn’t like apple pie.

Yes this video is a little hokey, and the production isn’t whiz-bang, but that actually adds a bit to the charm and in this case, promoting a food product.

What I find interesting is this thing has over 7,700 views to a fairly niche target audience… and truly shows that marketing to the long tail is possible.
