My first posting marks an important change in my career. After a five and a half year tenure with iDefense Labs, I've chosen to trade in my Director hat for that of a Security Evangelist for SPI Dynamics. I moved from managing the often controversial Vulnerability Contributor Program (VCP) to educating managers, end users and developers alike about web application security. It's a change that is exciting, intimidating and inspiring all at the same time.

What is a 'Security Evangelist'? I'm not entirely sure, but I do have a few ideas. This position will take me out the lab and throw me into the real world. It will provide me with the freedom to research leading edge technologies and share my thoughts and opinions.

I look forward to speaking at as many conferences as possible and interacting with the security community. One thing that I've learned over the past few years is that collaboration is a powerful tool. I invite you to challenge my opinions and share a few of your own.
