Goodbye Windows 2000
Almost a year ago Microsoft discontinued mainstream support for the Windows 2000 Operating System (June 30, 2005 to be precise), since that time SPI Dynamics has continued to support Windows 2000 but with the coming introduction of Windows Vista and coming improvements in our products our platform support will be changing.

On August 1, 2006, all new SPI Dynamics product releases will no longer support Windows 2000. SPI Dynamics will continue to support software released before August 1, 2006 on the Windows 2000 Operating System for up to 1 year following that products release.

For example, WebInspect 5.8 which was released in January 2006 will continue to be supported on the windows 2000 platform until January 2007 at which time you will be required to upgrade your system to receive support.

This change to our Windows support will allow us to take advantage of advances in Microsoft’s current and upcoming technologies such as Windows Vista and we strongly encourage our customers to move to Windows XP or Windows 2003 as soon as possible.

Let SPI know your thoughts on this pending change, sound off in the WebInspect Forum (registration required)
