The Backdrop
We've all been there, working in information security is a thankless job with few opportunities for success.  Worse, we're often taking on roles which feel a little bit like walking into a post-apocalyptic warzone... the battle is all but lost.  There come, in these times, opportunities to take a step back, assess the grim situation, the do something positive - and then share it with everyone else.  This is one of those opportunities.

The Request
Tell me (and maybe the world) about an opportunity you've had to make a change for the better.  Describe your worst-case scenario dealing with web application security.  Then, tell what you did, and how things turned around for your company.  Keep it relatively short, and in the following format:

• Describe the worst-case scenario and why it deserves the title "Worst Worst-Case Scenario" (exclude company details to protect the innocent... or not-so-innocent) in 250 words or less
• Give details of the changes that YOU made, methodology, tools, whatever... in 400 words or less
• In a one-liner, make a statement about why your case should be #1
